June 2022 I fell to the side while battling my **** whacker. I actually had my feet tangled in the cord. Yes, my right angle hurt…but no worse than any other time I had taken a fall. I walked cautiously on it for a few weeks and it seemed OK. Except for the nightly swelling. October 2022 I went in to the clinic to have my toes evaluated and mentioned my swelling ankle. The doctor found the “magic” spot to push on and I lifted off my seat! One ?MRI or CT scan? later and I learned I had literally separated, ripped apart, two tendons. So, into the Swede-o brace I went…and I can’t believe the difference. Toe surgery came first and I do not know when we’ll get to the ankle surgery. In the meantime, Feb 13, 2023, I am buying a second brace so that I don’t have to wait for my first brace to dry every weekend. The ability to adjust the tightness where I needed it most was shown to me by the nurse. That has been a huge benefit. Once, I forgot to put the plastic stabilizers back in…I could tell the difference right away. Also be aware there is no neoprene in the construction of this brace. I am allergic to neoprene (gives me the itches). I can where the brace all day every day with no discomfort, no irritation, and no inconvenience to my life style. I am sure I will eventually be buying a third one!!
