CMC Thumb Spica Splint

Description
The CMC Thumb Spica Splint provides comfortable and firm support, stability, and compression to help relieve pain and discomfort associated with injured or aching thumbs. This splint significantly reduces motion of the Metacarpophalangeal (MP) joint, Carpometacarpal (CMC) joint, and Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) to help stabilize the thumb, prevent hyperextension, and promote healing. Our design features an adjustable compression pad for true customization.
Unlike most other thumb spicas, the CMC Thumb Spica Splint covers the entire thenar eminence to provide ultimate support and stability. This thumb splint provides CMC stability during pinch & grip motions without impeding other joint movements. Ideal for: pre-op, post-op, minor and major injuries, CMC pain relief, stable fractures, trigger thumb, arthritis, soft tissue injuries, strains, sprains and other conditions.
The removable 6" malleable splint provides comfortable positioning and helps stabilize the thumb. Made from aluminum, the splint places the thumb in a neutral position and allows the thumb to rest by minimizing motions that may aggravate nerves, tendons, or ligaments. Use the additional strap to minimize excessive thumb movement and further limit ROM.
The included padded strap applies pressure to irritated muscles, tendons, and ligaments of the thumb and wrist to help ease pain and discomfort. When used in combination with the padded strap, this splint also helps relieve symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS); simply place the pad on the Thenar muscles or below the CMC joint. Also ideal for; osteoarthritis, arthritis, tendinitis, trauma to thumb, rehab sprains, and other soft tissue or repetitive stress injuries.
The low profile design allows full use of fingers and the adjustable thumb and wrist closures offer easy application and a custom fit. This splint is designed to contour to the natural shape of the wrist and thumb for increased comfort. The material is soft and comfortable against the skin.

Comfortable to wear, effective
I have de quervain's tenosynovitis, and this thumb splint has been a godsend! Very effective at relieving the pain, very easy to apply
Perfect splint!
I really like the CMC Thumb Spica Splint. It has a well thought out design and optional extra support that can be placed where needed. I like that everything can be adjusted to fit my hand/thumb since I have a smaller hand than most people and thus other splints never fit me well enough to do the job. This is the best splint I have ever had for my thumb
CMC thumb splint
I really like the fit of the splint. Having a smaller hand glad was able to make adjustment for my thumb. Also, I like the split which supports my thumb.

Simple, versatile design and looks very well made. Wish it weren't black and therefore obvious (beige colour would be my preference). I'm petite, with what I think of as ordinary sized hands. However this product is too big for me. I snipped back the thumb fabric but this didn't help since the product sits too low on my wrist for my liking and is all gappy. It doesn't give a strong support which is what I am after (arthritis). I used the enclosed attachments in various ways but they were trial and error and again didn't relieve my pain sadly. I'm also active and found I couldn't really get on with my day to day activities. It also isn't good to get wet and we all know how much we need to wash our hands!
